Postdoc Xiaochen Fu represented the team at the ARC Centre of Excellence (CoE) Annual Conference 2025, presenting a research poster on advanced electrochemical sensing technologies for environmental monitoring.
His poster, titled “Graphene Oxide-Based Electrochemical Sensors for Nitroaromatic Detection: From Fe-Porphyrin Mimicry to Enzymatic Catalysis,” explores how graphene oxide (GO) can be engineered to enhance the detection of nitroaromatic pollutants such as 4-nitrophenol. These compounds are environmentally persistent and toxic, making sensitive and reliable detection methods increasingly important.
The conference offered a valuable platform for Xiaochen to share his research, engage with experts in carbon science and sensor engineering, and gain feedback from the wider scientific community.
